Chapter 92: Comatose
[Claude POV] The last thing I remember was the time that sword pierced through my heart. While that’s happened to me, I already know that will be the end of it.However, when I lose consciousness, I don’t know why, but my body was fatigued. At the same time, I felt freedom.
There’s nothing that binds me anymore, and there’s nothing that grabs me on the leg anymore.
At that time, I felt the freest I’ve ever been.
Thus, I sleep.
I sleep without caring about anything else, and I leave my body to whomever wants to. I gave free reign to what happened to me and allowed another to control my body.
In my consciousness, I kind of expect that the other incarnation of mine will be able to take it over when I leave it alone. Of course, I don’t know whether this is true or not. Either way, I’m dead.
I am wondering if my death will let me return back in time like my 3rd incarnation was, or if my memory will be sent to another ‘Me’ in another universe.
I was in doubt. I’d never expected that I’d still be alive…
…
..
.
[N POV] “Oga! Put your hand on the wound! ”
“I only have 2 hands! It can’t be helped, healers! Do your best to heal Master Claude! ”
“We’ve already done our best, but it’s not working! “The wound keeps reopening once the mana stops!”
“Then, don’t stop! We’d arrive at Milshion HQ, and the other should already be prepared there! ”
The situation started to get hectic as soon as they opened their eyes. They could sighed in relief when they saw that Claude’s body was still intact. There was not even a wound in his body when they arrived in the middle of their return to Milshion HQ.
However, it suddenly changed when they arrived at the Holy Sword Highway.
It’s unknown what happened, but the wounds on Claude’s body opened like there was no end.
The leisure time they once spent while preserving the corpses of their comrades, along with tending Claude along the way, was suddenly filled with panic and surprise.
Blood was flowing down like a stream from Claude’s wound, as he was getting paler from the blood loss. The other couldn’t help but shudder in fear.
It’s a miracle that he can still be alive after being targeted by the North God, Kalman. They didn’t think more about the situation as Claude always creates miracles to survive the catastrophe coming after him.
Even so, they forget.
Claude is still a human, and he’s yet to reach invulnerability.
They grip their hands so hard they bleed, and some of the healers even bleed from all their orifices, doing their best to maintain the mana supply so Claude can stay alive.
The distance wasn’t that much, but it still took them forever to reach their HQ.
In the end, as they arrived at the location, The healers had almost all fallen because of the lack of mana, creating more damage than their fights with the bandits.
The people at the HQ were troubled not only because of Claude but also because of the survivor. They’ve done all they could to bring Claude home as soon as possible. Creating injuries for themselves along the way, the healers were on the brink of consciousness.
In this event alone, the damage inflicted to Arbalest was enormous enough to stop all the operations.
All the items they should have brought on this occasion were things they needed to complete the Millis economic takeover. But, because of the sudden attack from Kalman, it all went awry. Arbalest failed in the economic takeover, not to mention that.
The group was in a dire strait, with the possibility of falling into debt.
Well, they can break away from that with Claude. But, with the person still unconscious, it’s hard to think of a way to solve this problem.
In the first place, this plan was something they made in a hurry because they lacked the funds to further strengthen the group.
Even though the Dungeon Manifestation can be dealt with in another way, having more money would make them have an easier time researching and developing plenty of things.
Everything was going so well, there shouldn’t be anything that could possibly be a roadblock for them.
“I’d never thought that the one above would move… We never act in a way to trouble that thing, right? ” Mike said, while looking at the unconscious Claude.
“What is ‘that’ you guys are talking about?” Isolte said, while nursing Claude on the side of the bed.
As soon as she heard that there was something wrong with Claude, it was an emergency. She hurriedly took a hitch with Ash and Mike, heading to Milshion as fast as they could.
She even whipped Charizard several times…
At this time, Whether it’s Ash or Mike, they can’t help but stay silent as they fear that the thing above will once again try to do something to Claude.
What makes Hitogami trouble Claude enough to even try and kill him? What’s his purpose?
No one knows this question and no one can answer it, as they even don’t know about the being in the first place.
The only one that had the closest relation towards Hitogami is Geese, the monkey man, followed by Rudeus and Orsted.
While the last person had a grudge with Hitogami, Rudeus still doesn’t know about the real purpose of Hitogami’s helping him in the first place.
While Geese just blatantly ignore anything else, just because Hitogami saved him from his race’s extinction.
In other words, they are powerless in this battle.
No plans can save them, and currently, even their lives are being endangered.
“I don’t think I can tell you more about this. I’m sorry Isolte,” Mike said, after considering the situation.
While Isolte is disappointed by the choice, she respects Mike’s decision.
She knows quite well that Mike chooses it to protect her.
“Please, open your eyes already… Claude…” Isolte said, while wiping Claude’s face.
